The Magic seized control of their playoff series with the Toronto Raptors, as they won north of the border, 106-94 to take a commanding 3-1 advantage. Here’s what went right for the Magic:
1. Rashard worth the money- The Magic got some fantastic return on their investment in Rashard Lewis as he led the team with 27 points while grabbing 13 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists. Lewis hit on 10 of his 19 field goal attempts.
2. Jameer’s back- After a miserable game 3, Jameer Nelson returned to fourth quarter dominance as he scored 12 of his 19 points in the final period and hit several key jump shots down the stretch. Nelson also ran the Magic offense efficiently as he dished out 5 assists and held Toronto’s point guard combo of T.J. Ford and Jose Calderon to just 14 points.
3. Great three-point defense- Orlando guarded the arc well as the held the Raptors to just 2 of 15 shooting from long distance for 13.3%.
4. Hittin’ the glass- Orlando outrebounded the finesse Raptors 48-42, and were led by Dwight Howard’s 16 boards.
5. Howard in the paint- The Raptors once again had no match for Dwight Howard as he scored 19 points on 9-12 shooting, grabbed 16 rebounds and had 8 blocked shots.
