The Orlando Magic got back on the right track Wednesday night with an impressive 115-83 victory over the Chicago Bulls at the Amway Arena.
What went right:
1. Sharp shooting from the field-
The Magic shot better than 50% from the field (45-89) en route to their 115 point outburst against what is usually a solid defensive Bulls team.
2.
Dwight Howard
returned-
After a few lackluster games, Dwight Howard stepped up in a big way as he scored 30 points on 12-15 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds.
3. Heart and hustle-
Orlando got it done on the defensive end as they held the Bulls to just 41% from the field (34-83), and forced 19 Chicago turnovers.
4. Hit the glass hard-
The Magic finally won the rebounding battle after getting outrebounded in their last four contests. Orlando grabbed 53 boards to Chicago’s 46, as they were led by Howard’s 14.
5. Rashard returned-
Lewis rebounded from his off night Sunday to score 21 points on 8-16 shooting, including four 3-point shots. Rashard also grabbed 7 rebounds.
6. Solid bench production-
The Orlando bench scored 37 points, and were led by
Carlos Arroyo
’s 13 points and 6 assists.
Magic MVP- Dwight Howard-
Howard wowed the crowd with several spectacular dunks on some fine passes by
Jameer Nelson
and
Hedo Turkoglu
. Howard’s presence was felt on defense as well as he blocked just one shot and altered many others.
Orlando’s was certainly impressive in their 115-83 victory over the
Chicago Bulls
. Despite the offensive outburst the team didn’t play a perfect game.
What went wrong:
1. Free throw shooting-
The Magic didn’t need to make their free throws on this night which was a good thing. They hit on just 16 of 27 shots from the charity stripe for just 59.3%. Dwight Howard hit just 6 of 13.
2. Turnovers-
Orlando turned the ball over 16 times which led to 13 Chicago points.
