The Orlando Magic let a golden opportunity to score a home victory over a Western Conference power slip through their collective grasps as they blew a 16-point lead and lost to the New Orleans Hornets, 98-97 at the Amway Arena.

What went wrong:
1. Rebounding- The Hornets were all over the glass as they outrebounded the Magic by a whopping margin of 51-30. New Orleans grabbed 21 offensive rebounds, which was one of the highest totals posted against the Magic all season long.

2. Free throw shooting- The Magic connected on just 10 of 15 free throws on the night for 67%. What's most disturbing is that the team missed their final three shots from the line in the last few minutes. New Orleans hit 21 of their 27 attempts for 78%.

3. Point guard play- Carlos Arroyo started the game for the Magic and he was completely ineffective as he missed all five shots he took from the field and turned the ball over twice en route to a no point performance. Keyon Dooling was a little better, but he hit just 3 of 7 shots for 6 points. All-Star Chris Paul had an off night, but still scored 19 points and dished out 12 assists.

4. No hustle- The Magic didn't seem to come up with any loose balls, and they were completely outworked on the glass and in the paint. Although the game was likely meaningless for the Southeast Division champs, their effort level wasn't where it should've been and they haven't defeated a high quality opponent in some time.

Here's what went right:
1. Shooting- The Magic hit on 50% of their shots from the field (37-74), and were led by Hedo Turkoglu's 26 points on 10-19 shooting.

2. Three's were falling- Orlando hit 13 of their 29 attempts from long distance for 44.8%. Rashard Lewis led the team with 6 three point shots in 8 attempts, en route to his 24 point performance.

3. Magic bench- Orlando was certainly short-handed with the injuries to forward Brian Cook and point guard Jameer Nelson. With Rashard Lewis in foul trouble for much of the game, Orlando's bench was serviceable, as they were only outscored 20-19 by the much deeper, more talented Hornets reserves.
