The Magic played an exhilarating game against the second place Washington Wizards Wednesday evening, as they came up on the short end of the scoreboard, 87-86. Orlando played well in spots, but couldn’t put together a complete effort. Let’s look at the silver lining from the Wizards game.

What went right:

1. Hedo had a big game on his birthday- Turkoglu made up for much of the team’s offensive shortcomings as he scored a career high 39 points on his 29th birthday. Turkoglu went 11-20 from the field, but missed his final shot which would’ve won the game.

2. Solid night from behind the arc- Orlando hit on 14 of 35 three point attempts for 40%. Hedo led the way with seven 3-point shots, and Keith Bogans hit on four of his seven attempts.

3. Defense was solid- The Magic were solid on defense for much of the night as they held the Wizards to just under 43% from the field (35-82).

4. Bogans with a good contribution- Keith Bogans was solid off the bench as he scored 14 points including four from long distance.
