There is plenty to choose from in our always popular what went wrong segment, as Orlando was outplayed for three quarters on their home court against a team that played less than 24 hours ago.

What went wrong

1. Ball handling- The Magic were more than careless with the basketball as they committed 20 turnovers on the night. Golden State racked up 14 steals on the night, one of their highest totals of the season.

2. Superman disappeared- Although Dwight Howard finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks, most of his damage was done in the first half. After intermission, Howard scored just 7 points and grabbed 2 rebounds.

3. Defense on Baron Davis- Neither Maurice Evans, Keith Bogans, or anyone else on the team could come close to stopping the Warriors point guard. Davis scored 33 points and seemingly penetrated at will against the porous Orlando defense.

4. Glass work- Orlando was outrebounded by Golden State, 44-42 despite playing against a much smaller Warriors linup.

5. Lights out on the offense- After their first quarter offensive explosion, the Magic couldn’t throw it in the ocean from the beach as they scored just 58 points in the final three periods.

6. Lots of misses from close in- The Magic missed more than their fair share of layups and wide open shots, and didn’t make good on the opportunities that Golden State presented them. When the Warriors went on their run in the third quarter, a quarter in which they outscored the Magic 33-16, no one could step up for Orlando on the offensive end.
